Brian Bowen's Snax Sax Program Chairman: Linda Mason
The PUMC Missions Committee has started a "Snax Sax" food program at a local elementary school for children that are in need of food. The bags of pre-packaged food will be given to the children on Fridays so they won't go hungry over the weekends.
This program began at Embry Hills United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. When approached about starting such a program in Houston County, David Carpenter and members of the food service department were very excited about the proposal. They said that many of our Perry children come to school hungry on Monday mornings, having had very little to eat on weekends.

At this time, the program is being funded by the Missions Committee, Perry Methodist Sunday School classes, and private donations. Volunteers meet each week to pack the bags before they are delivered on Friday.
If you would like more information about this project, contact Linda Mason at the Perry United Methodist Church.
Snax Sax Happenings:
On December 17th, we delivered holiday bags along with our regular Snax Sax. The holiday bags contained 4 pieces of fresh fruit and some special treats. The fruit was donated by a local produce market.
The Brian Bowen's Snax Sax program has been very blessed recently with generous donations. These donations keep our project afloat. Without them, we would be unable to feed the 185 students at Perry Primary each week.
Those of us on the Missions Committee would like to thank you for the funds you provide for the mission work of the Perry United Methodist Church. Many lives all over the world have been blessed though your generosity.
Brian Bowen's Snax Sax
The Missions Committee has entertained the idea of naming a Mission Project in memory of Brian Bowen. Kellie Bowen gave us the idea of renaming Snax Sax to include Brian’s name.
Brian was the chairman of the Missions Committee for several years and had a passion for helping people.
