About PUMC Relay For Life
The PUMC Relay For Life efforts began as an offshoot of the Missions Committee. In 2009, the goal of $2000 was exceeded when almost $3000 was raised for the fight against cancer. In 2010, the goal of $2500 was exceeded when we raised $3436.
How can YOU help?
Join our ONLINE team!
Please consider joining our ONLINE Relay Team. Help raise funds for our team by reaching out through your Facebook page or through email. When you join online, you will be given a sample email to use and also a wall post for Facebook - it is so easy to help raise money for this great cause. If you are interested in being part of our virtual team, email Lynne Phelps.

You can give a check to any team member or the church office made out to American Cancer Society.

Luminarias
Every Candle has a Name
…There’s a name of the ones who are still here.
There’s a name of those gone we still hold dear.

Please consider honoring your friends and family who have battled cancer by purchasing a Luminaria (a container filled with sand and a candle, labeled with an individual's name) to be displayed at the 2010 Relay For Life. These candles also serve as symbols of hope to us as we continue to work for a cure for the disease that claims so many lives. $5 minimum donation (more is ok!) per name.
Everyone is invited to attend the Luminaria Ceremony:

Flamingo Flocking
For a minimum donation of $25 (more is ok!) you can inflict some pink plastic tackiness on the yards of friends and neighbors! See the photo album of past flamingo flockings!
The "Shepherd of the Flock" will plant a flock of 25-30 flamingos and pick them up a day or two later. The victim has the option, for a donation, to move them on to a new victim! This is our major fundraising activity.

Flocking Protection Insurance
Afraid of "Revenge of the Flamingos?" For a minimum donation of $35 (more is ok!) you can get flamingo flocking protection insurance! Get your insurance early, as we can't accept an insurance request if your house is already on the list to be flocked!

The following people are insured, so please continue with the flocking but select a different victim!

BUNKO Fundraiser January & Late April
Join us for a Saturday evening of fellowship and fun while raising money ($10 admission) for this great cause! Snacks and dessert will be served. Donated prizes will be awarded for:
- Highest number of games
- Lowest number of games
- Highest number of Bunkos
- Door Prizes throughout
Older children and preteens are also welcome to play, so make it a family fun night for a great cause! Childcare will be provided, so make it a date night and bring your friends!
