As most of you know, our longtime organist, Grace Daniel, suffered a foot injury back in October that has prevented her from
playing the organ at our Sunday services. Due to the lingering problems with her foot as well as some other health related issues, Grace has decided to retire from her duties as our church organist.
Grace has been a fixture at Perry United Methodist Church for approximately 23 years and we have been blessed by her talents and her commitment. Thank you, Grace, for your long and faithful service to this church.
George Nunn
Staff Parish Relations Chair
Deep appreciation is expressed to Grace Daniel for her loyal service as church organist. Grace’s commitment to our church has been exceptional. For 23 years Grace has played hymns, preludes, offertories and postludes for both the Sunday morning and Sunday evening worship services, and has accompanied our choirs, vocalists and instrumentalists. Grace has provided music for weddings, funerals and cantatas, and for many other special services and programs.
Also a talented singer, Grace has sung solos, duets and participated in the Ladies’ Ensemble. She has provided leadership as a singer in the Sanctuary Choir, and has assisted with conducting sectional rehearsals.
A reception will be held in Grace’s honor in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, February 21, from 4:00-5:30. Everyone is invited to help celebrate the music ministry of Grace Daniel.
Jane Kimbrel
Director of Music Ministries
The value of music is inestimable in the effectiveness of any church’s ministry. For years Grace Daniel not only brought excellence through her many musical gifts, but also became a good friend to us as well. I hope you will make your plans to attend this reception February 21 in Grace’s honor.
