Jane Kimbrel, Music Director“Sing to Him a new song; Play skillfully with a shout of joy.” -- Psalm 33:3
The many gifted individuals and groups who are a part of our extensive music ministry richly enhance our worship experience. Through the glorious sounds of voices, instruments, and handbells, we celebrate the joyful bond between God and our community of faith. There is a place for you in the Perry United Methodist Music Ministry! Email me if you are interested in joining us.

Music & Performance Groups:

Sanctuary Choir
The Sanctuary Choir is a 35 member mixed chorus which sings every Sunday for both the 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM worship services. The choir enjoys singing in a variety of styles; their rich choral blend on anthems and on hymn singing greatly enhances each worship experience. Rehearsals are held every Wednesday in the choir room from 6:45-8:15.

Seasonal music services are presented
throughout the liturgical year. Annual Christmas Cantatas, Maundy Thursday Services, and Easter Services are accompanied by orchestra. Instrumentalists also routinely accompany weekly worship services.

The Sanctuary Choir was invited to sing for the June 2011 service welcoming the new Americus District Superintendent, and for the Americus District Bishop's Hour in September 2011.

Handbells
The Sanctuary Bells and Handbell Quartet ring annual fall and spring concerts, and ring several times per year in worship. They often combine with the Sanctuary Choir to present anthems, and have performed works with choir and orchestra. The Sanctuary Bells participate annually in area handbell festivals such as the Georgia Spring Ring and the Ebenezeer Handbell Festival.

J.O.Y. Choir (Just Older Youth!)
This choir of older adults rehearses weekly and enjoys sharing music and a meal together at each rehearsal. The choir sings for worship and presents fall and spring musical programs. As an outreach ministry, the choir sings monthly at area nursing homes. The JOY choir was invited to sing for South Georgia Annual Conference worship services in 2009 and in 2011.

Childrens' Choirs
The children’s choirs participate regularly in worship, present annual Christmas and spring musical productions, and participate in an annual children-led worship service. Singing techniques and musical concepts are emphasized, and Orff instruments and choir chimes are frequently incorporated into rehearsals and performances.
