Perry United Methodist has a long tradition of excellent music in worship, and the many and varied groups which participate are an integral part of this tradition.
Sanctuary Choir
The Sanctuary Choir sings for the 9:00am and 11:00am worship services. By offering excellent choral and instrumental repertoire in a variety of styles, the worship experience is enhanced, and congregational participation is encouraged through the musical expression of worship.
Seasonal music services accompanied by orchestra are presented throughout the liturgical year. On occasion the choir presents services in association with the CenterStage for Christ Drama Ministries.

In addition to their offerings in worship, The Sanctuary Choir choir fosters a high degree of comaradarie, and provides a community of friendship and fun.

Handbells
The Sanctuary Bells and the Handbell Quartet ring several times per year in worship, and perform annual fall and spring concerts. The Sanctuary Bells have combined with vocal groups to present anthems, and works for choir and orchestra. Ringers participate annually in area handbell festivals such as the Georgia Spring Ring and Ebenezeer Handbell Festivals. In the spring of 2014 PUMC will host the Georgia Spring Ring, with clinician Dr. John Behnke from Concordia University Wisconsin.
J.O.Y. Choir (Just Older Youth!)
This enthusiastic choir of older adults enjoys singing and sharing a meal together during weekly rehearsals. As an outreach ministry, the choir sings monthly at area nursing homes, and presents musicals annually at Christmas and in the spring. The choir also sings several times a year in worship.
The JOY Choir was invited to sing for South Georgia Annual Conference worship services in 2009 and in 2011. The choir recently presented programs at the Douglas First United Methodist Church, the Montezuma Health and Rehabilitation Facility, and at Magnolia Manor in Americus. The JOY Choir has been invited to sing at Epworth by the Sea's spring program for adults, Springtime By the Sea, in May of 2013.
Men's Ensemble
All singing men are invited to join this energetic group. Repertoire includes traditional hymns and southern gospel music composed for men's voices.
Children's Choirs
(K4-5th grade)
Children's choirs participate regularly in worship, present annual Christmas and spring musical productions, and lead an annual Children's Led Worship Service. Worship, music education, and skill development are emphasized. Singing techniques and musical concepts are taught, and Orff instruments and choir chimes are frequently incorporated.
