The set from The Living Last Supper was still in place, so our clergy delivered the service from the upper room as painted by Leonardo da Vinci (or set designer extraordinaire, Stephen Gray!)
The Easter services were festive as the choir and worship participants processed, the brass and timpani played, and God's Word was proclaimed. Nearly 900 attended between both services. God is doing great things at Perry UMC!

The music was glorious! The Sanctuary Choir, accompanied by brass and timpani, presented special music on Easter Sunday. Trumpeter Chuck Herron, Band Director at Central High in Macon, Trumpeter Lloyd McDonald, Band Director at Feagin Middle School in Warner Robins, Trombonist John Cornacchione, retired Warner Robins Air Force Band member and current Georgia Big Band Director, Trumpeter Eric Frank, Warner Robins Air Force Reserve Band member, and our own percussionist, Jay Jimerson, participated in the services.
Choir selections are Lift High the Cross and Fanfare for Easter Day, which includes congregational participation. Miriam Marchetti will sing the soprano solo I Know That My Redeemer Liveth from Handel's Messiah. A brass and organ prelude will begin 10 minutes prior to each service.
Additional seating was available in the Fellowship Hall during 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services. The worship service was projected on the big screen via a live video feed.
After the services, people brought cut flowers and placed them on the wooden cross on the front lawn of the church.
