"Aunt Pinky's Place!"

Another "CenterStage" PRESENTATION!
About CenterStage:
Organized under the PUMC Evangelism team in 2006, this Christian drama troupe allows volunteers to create, produce and act out full-length plays that minister to its audiences. CenterStage provides wholesome entertainment that furthers God's kingdom to the entire community.
Each production has been more successful than the last, and audiences are now coming not only from Perry but also from well outside our local area. Some productions have also had a second run in Fort Valley's historic Austin Theater after their first run in the PUMC Fellowship Hall.
A variety of talents are needed for this ministry: actors, script writers, set designers, construction crew, costume designers, lighting technicians, prop managers, and general stage help.
If you would like to be a part of this expanding ministry, please contact Diane Kinsley.
AUNT PINKY'S PLACE proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society
Proceeds from "Paid Programming" will benefit the American Cancer Society via the PUMC Relay for Life fundraising team.

About Aunt Pinky's Place:
In 2009, CenterStage for Christ presented "Split Endz", the story of two cousins who run a beauty salon in a Southern small town that offers its patrons the opportunity to have their hair styled like present day celebrities. The fast-paced comedy demonstrated the importance for Christians to not be judgmental and prejudiced against others. In 2010, the Christian drama troupe brought back the two hairstylists in "Merpy Christmas". Though equally madcap as its predecessor, this show also had some tender moments through a Christmas of sacrificial giving.
Here it is 2012, and part of the cast has returned to present "Aunt Pinky's Place" March 15-18 at 7:30PM at the Perry United Methodist Church. In this third installment, the salon has burned down and one of the stylists, Diane Love is being forced to go to work cutting hair in the garage of her aunt.

Reminding us of Archie Bunker, Diane is never slow to criticize other religions or other Christian's walk with God. Her vinegary style leaves everyone stinging a bit but now she has met her match in her Aunt Pinky. Michael Kinsley, the director of this CenterStage production says, "Diane Love is an imperfect Christian who is noticeably bigoted, narrow minded, judgmental, hypocritical, prideful and ignorant of the Bible. She is important in Christian literature because she comically points out the imperfection in us all and the need for grace by even the best of us."
Audience members won't be able to stop laughing throughout the show. Kinsley says that the play begins with rapid and witty dialogue. But as the show progresses, the humor becomes more slapstick and crazy, reminiscent of "I Love Lucy".
Physical comedy when done masterfully is great fun to watch. This experienced cast has Macon Little Theater veterans Mark Blankenship and Diane Kinsley in side-splitting situations. Fans of Warner Robins Little Theater and Perry Players will recognize Gale Bryant as a deft contributor of zany antics. CenterStage for Christ regulars, Justin Williamson, Anita Williams, Corky Powell, Jimmy Faircloth, Allen Mason and Eddie Fresh round out the cast and provide their share of hilarity.
CenterStage for Christ productions are open to everyone. Groups are especially welcome. For Ticket information, call 987-1852. If you have never seen one of their productions, you will be surprised at the quality and preparation that is evident throughout the show. Patrons of these comedies never fail to experience a great evening.
