In July 2006, Jane Kimbrel joined the Perry United Methodist Church staff as Director of Music Ministries. Jane is a May 2010 candidate for the Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Organ Performance at the University of Kentucky, and holds a Master's Degree in Church Music from Concordia University Wisconsin and a Bachelor of Music Degree in Church Music from Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia.
Jane is the current chair of the South Georgia Annual Conference Worship Committee and serves as the piano and organ chair to the Music Interest Area of the National Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and Worship Arts. Jane's most recently published article, “The Organ: The King of Instruments,” appeared in the January/February 2010 issue of Worship Arts Journal. An additional article, "A New Perspective on the Organ Voluntaries of Samuel Wesley," appeared in the September/October 2008 issue of Worship Arts Journal. She is a member of the American Guild of Organists, the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers, the National Guild of Piano Teachers and the Choristers Guild.
Jane has served as a district director of worship, a worship training workshop presenter, an adjudicator for the American College of Musicians, as an area coordinator for handbell festivals, and has performed organ recitals throughout the southeast. Jane served the Thomasville, GA First United Methodist Church and the Douglas, GA First United Methodist Church.
Jane is married to Rev. Billy Kimbrel, the Associate Pastor for Evangelism at Perry UMC. They are the parents of three grown children: Abbyjane, Robert and Catherine.
