Jane C. Kimbrel, Director of Music Ministries
In July 2006, Jane Kimbrel joined
the Perry United Methodist Church staff as Director of Music
Ministries. Jane
has completed the course requirements for a Doctor of Musical Arts
Degree in Organ Performance at the University of Kentucky, and holds
a Master's Degree in Church Music from Concordia University
Wisconsin and a Bachelor of Music Degree in Church Music from
Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia.
Jane is the current Chair of the South Georgia Annual
Conference Worship Committee and
serves as the Piano and Organ Chair to
the National Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and Worship Arts Music
Committee. Jane's
most recently published article, "A New Perspective on the Organ
Voluntaries of Samuel Wesley," appears in the September/October 2008
issue of Worship Arts Journal. She is a
member of the American Guild of
Organists, the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers, the
National Guild of
Piano Teachers and the Choristers Guild.
She has served as a District Director of Worship, a worship training
workshop presenter, an adjudicator for the American College of
Musicians, as an area coordinator for handbell festivals, and has
performed organ recitals throughout the southeast. Jane served the
Thomasville First
United Methodist Church and the Douglas First United Methodist Church.
Jane is a Certified Deacon Candidate in the United Methodist Church. She
is married to Rev. Billy Kimbrel, the Associate Pastor for Evangelism at
Perry UMC. They are the parents of three grown children: Abbyjane,
Robert and Catherine.
